Best dressed at the MET
The MET gala is one of the greatest events in the fashion calendar. Every first Monday in May, celebrities from all over join the MET to show off their looks and support the MET museum. Each year the theme is designed and the Vouge team gets to work to ensure the perfection of the event. Brands pay for tickets, invites are sent, and the attire has to be approved by Anna Wintor herself. This great event makes moments in history and to be on the best-dressed list is an honor, so here is this year’s best-dressed list for Khaurafab.
1)
Each look at the Met is special, this year’s theme was to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld. He is one of the most iconic designers out there, most notably for his work at Channel and Fendi. It is no wonder there would be some archival channel pieces on the runway… Each look on this list is special but it is important to recognize just how much he loved his muses. He was a phenomenal person, designer, and friend to many. So the first fav look goes to each and every person and muse that wore an original piece.
2) Giselle
We can all agree that Giselle has been living her best life recently and this look is wow! She looks stunning, chic, and her energy is infectious. Her look and her amazing vibrancy is the reason she is on this list. As well as the fact that she brought a similar chicness that the vintage channel.
3) Jeanie ruby Jane
Being that she is one of the channel ambassadors she of course had an amazing but still simple look and approach. It was classic channel look with the black and white, roses, and chic style.
4)DOja Cat
Doja cat always has an extravagant and show stopping look so for her to dress as a literal cat. No shocker! She is literally Dja Cat! If you didn’t know Karl Lagerfeld loved his cat Choupette very much, so much so that everything has been left to her. Largerfeld also made many designs based on her. Doja Cat’s team made this look so amazing with custom everything, down to the cat prosthetics.

5) Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway is probably one of my favorite looks. She is signed with Versace so they made this beautiful dress as a marriage between Versace and channel. This tweed dress has a shape hugging silhouette, with a classic gold chain bringing the fabrics together. Hathaway’s hair was in this beautiful, voluminous half up half down look with a vintage channel hair piece. It is classic, beautiful, and a beautiful ode to Karl Lagerfeld.
6) Penelope Cruz
A true beauty on the carpet as Penelope cruz took the carpet in this channel bridal look, vail and all. She set a great tone of class for the night. I expected nothing less either especially because she is one of the channel ambassadors, recently for watches.
7) Dua lipa
Speaking of bridal, this look by Due lipa I believe was first worn by Claudia shcafer in a vintage channel runway look. I loved her in this dress, she looked beautiful and I love the vintage and archival pieces on the runway.
8) The Kar-jenner’s
Ill be very honest. I 100% preferred Kendall’s look because though simple, it fit with the theme head on. Kylie seemed like she went for simple glamour but wow did she look AMAZING with the dress and the coat! Then we have Kim Kardahsian in Schiaparelli, a brand in which I truly admire. While I wasn’t in live with the look I love the idea of the pearls and the white.
9) Bad Bunny
A lot of men don’t have the outfits and style that Bad bunny has, most go with a black suit or some other simple color suit. But he continues to make the Met gala something real! He gives the looks I love the most.
10)
Gigi Hadid has always been a big name in fashion for her modeling and now her show next in fashion. She has a great look with the feathering, floral, black look she wore. Plus can we talk about her amazing chemistry with Emma Chamberlain? Every time they are together on the Met carpet they seem like such best friends and I enjoy them so much every year.
11) Amko Yai
This is my last look for the night here but I will continue it on YouTube as well if you’d like to see it down below. I was so excited to see Amok Yai, she is on the cover of May Vouge and now looking as stunning as ever on the Met Gala red carpet. Her skin was gleaming the entirety of the time and her dress just as much. With this silhouette, the skin, and those metalis she has become my favorite look.
