What the characters from SATC would wear in 2024
Who are you when it comes to the people on your screen? Are you a Miranda? Taking the world by storm. Maybe you are Samantha, a woman with the confidence to last five lifetimes and a glamorous PR job that can get you anywhere. Perhaps you are like me, a Carrie, a woman with many life-changing revelations, but seems to be chasing after the same man…I’m kidding, of course. Or maybe you are the romantic, educated character; Charlotte, you could also be a mix.
Either way, I wanted to show you what these iconic characters would wear in 2024 if they were in their 20s to 30s. I know they have a reboot now, but I am going for their younger selves.
Carrie
The Icon herself, Carrie. She is a memorable character for her fashion, writing her column all about sex and scandal and being a life lesson. Many show watchers have questioned her as a person, but through her mistakes, lessons were made for the viewers on what and what not to do. She is a complicated woman with the best styles in TV. In 2024, I see her sticking to her very out-there style, shopping high class at SSENSE, and buying a baby tee on Etsy to support a small business the next day. She is still a Monolo Blanic girl, and I believe she will always be a woman who can rock a heel with any outfit she can.
I could see her heavily indulging in the best of DIESEL, Blumarine, sorotié vintage, MIU MIU, and Réalisation Par.
She is, of course, a gold girl, and I can see her in 2024 wearing a maximal style of jewelry from earrings, bangles, ankle bracelets, and maybe even a belly chain. She is the true maximalist.
I have so much more fashion inspo for maximalists on my Pinterest @Khaurafab on the Fashion Inspo board!
Miranda
Miranda Hobbs is a New York lawyer, mother, and badass. Ths woman is also a realist, even when trying to find love in the city most of the time she could still recognize the flaws in relationships, usually Carrie’s relationship but honestly she is another woman who shows many lessons in the show. All these women have different styles and while Miranda keeps in neutral in the office, she is bright and boho on a day out. Purples, greens, orange, and reds are her choices of colors.
I can see Miranda being an Alo girl. I think she would go for it based on a recommendation from Charolette or vice versa. Her casual wear and workout wear feel very off the nose for her.
Workwear, she isn’t going for the “office siren look” on purpose. Miranda, in 2024, would see these trends as a bit overdone, but she would be pulling the best work outfits. Her suits are pressed, neutral colors, a darker plum, and a bright shoe or accessory.
Her day-to-day is boho, and she's more definitely rocking a French-style bob haircut. She owns jean dresses and overalls, styles her hair effortlessly, and wears long coats and layers in winter. I can see her being a fan of the brands Alo, Mango, Khaite,
Charlotte
This woman is a romantic; she is the definition of soft girl energy. A young Charlotte York loves the coquette aesthetic, bows, class, and everything feminine. She has an edgy moment here and there, but she wears frills and pink lace. She works at the art gallery and dreams of love, and when as she gets older, her outfits become a little more conservative, aka more pearls and Ralph Lauren.
he would be a proud bow girlie and without thinking about it, she gravitates towards that “old money aesthetic” on Pinterest. She has expensive taste but I see a young her as willing to mix and match as long as she stays put together and as lovely as ever.
Her nails are usually a natural pink, and her jewelry is simple but stylish. She gravitated towards Realisation Par, mirror palais, Realisation Par, Ralph Lauren, my mum made it, and many classic brands. Of course, she will have the cutest vintage channel shoes and probably love the ballet flat trend.
Samantha
She may be scandelous but her radiant confidence is what is truly memorable about her. The samantha of 2024 is that bold cool girl but like the other women she has a work vibe too. She works in PR so she is always glamorous, flirty, and fashionable.
She had class and sass and like the other women she has a style that is for work and other ways of versatility. Although I hate these over done aesthetic names I would say she falls into the “mob wife” look with cheetah prints, heels, black, and sensual silhouettes.
