Best celebrity Halloween costumes of 2022

This Halloweekend has been like no other, this year the costumes have been getting real creative. Even the celebrity costumes are getting more extravagant with multiple costumes, photo shoots, and glam teams on stand by. This Halloween is sure to be part of the bests.

A costume that gave me a spooky surprise had to be Kylie Jenner as the Bride of Frankenstein. Her photo shoot recreating the movies posters was creative and detailed. Jenner wore a Jean Paul dress in this picture. Though she had many Frankenstein outfit changes in this shoot.

Not every costume this Halloweekend has been a fright, we also has people like Lizzo in this Marge Simpson costume. The star did a truly amazing job with this cartoon costume.

We love a pop culture reference! Lori Harvey as Beyoncé in the ‘me myself and I” music video

Speaking of pop culture, many remember when Lady Gaga preformed her song ‘paparazzi’ while she fake bled out on stage. The moment was iconic and it was about time for it to be recreated. Addison Rae showcased her recreation on Instagram this Halloweekend and it’s amazing.

Another Jenner had a great costume this year, she shared the picture below on Instagram and I can’t help but notice…Is her red hair back?! She dressed up as Jessie from Toy Story and is having another red moment. While I’m a bit biased of this costume since I’m going as Buzz light year, I am loving this!

Bringing the costumes back in the Kar-Jenner family with the many Kim Kardashian costumes, specifically her kids . This year Kim Kardashian dressed her kids as 90s Rap and R&B icons and these photos are just as iconic.

Keke Palmer is Rapunsel is the newest posts. Along with dressing the part she shared her own version of the character in a skit posted on Instagram. The inspiration from this was from popular request and she delivered.

Chloe Cherry has been doing many editorials since being on Euphoria. She continues that trend with her Jessica Rabbit look.

After seeing all these costumes I’m beginning to think this list is going to be way too long! So I have to end it with 2 more amazing costumes. Pdiddy as the joker had to be at the top! Not only did her do an entire photo shoot but according to other celebs he stayed in character all night.

And again I have to shed light on Kylie Jenner because the costumes this year were insane! Not only did we get bride of Frankenstein, the Elvira, and now the space series below!

The return of the Tumblr era

Around early 2014 Tumblr reached its peak and people were making around 100 million posts a day. While Tumblr seemed like just a social media platform, many remember Tumblr as more of an aesthetic or era now. The platform was mostly used by 2014 teens and had a certain “grunge aesthetic” if you will, though this wasn’t the only aesthetic going on at the time I can confidently say that people hold on more to this rather than a lot of other types of content on Tumblr. The reason I say that Tumblr is having a comeback is based on what Ive been seeing in our everyday social media apps.

We have seen time and time again the need for nostalgia in fashion and media. We like to take trends and reinvent them into more modern ways because of the fashion cycle along with like I said before, nostalgia. Since we are going through so many micro trends, the fashion cycle is moving evidently faster meaning media will as well. I think I have seen hundreds of videos now about a “better time” or a “simpler” time in the 2010’s and while we can all agree it was just around the corner, it is getting an early comeback in certain ways.

The first was musically, the return of arctic monkeys, a new Taylor swift album, and a Carly Rae Jepsen album screams 2012-16. Specifically it is hinting at that Tumblr era I have been talking about. More and more artists that were popular in this era are coming back, a big indication of this return.

Social media has become a bit, saturated, instagram is no longer casual and fun. This has been a commonly acknowledged thing, since many people including celebrities have commented on the shift in social media platforms. Instagram is no longer what it was, people just want to have fun on the app and be able to interact with their friends. Instagram has also been shifting to more of a video platform, this isn’t desirable to many because this certain type of content is being pushed out more. The app, along with many others, has not been the same and people miss that. While Instagram will not change its algorithms, people want the old Instagram back, they want that casual posting era. We are going to see more people using Instagram as they would Tumblr, more people using cameras (not on their phones), and straying away from posts that feel “forced”. More people want to be real, to the point where every one is even using an app called, Be real. On this app you can only post at a certain, random time and it comes from the front and back camera. Everyone wants to feel real and genuine and this is what we are going to get from media.

Fashion wise, things are coming back but differently. For example, ballet flats are making a comeback, not to say that it was ever fully out. Most people attributed the trend for ballet flats to these feminine, cottage core, coquette aesthetics and while I agree…I could also say that it came back to many other areas of the fashion cycle. The trend cycle is moving faster an faster and that means that we will be seeing trends from everywhere come back no matter what era but we will all notice them getting faster and faster. So think back to the trend of that time and you will being noticing more and more people using these trends in everyday fashion. They will however be curated into their own, more modern, ways. Each style pattern that comes back won’t be the same but it will be similar. For example, middle parts will come back, just maybe not that dramatic swooped one that covered everyone’s entire face.

The Tumblr era is all about that grungy, genuine, fun kind of look. We are incorporating more and more of these things now. Each trend in media and fashion will be directed from that Era and come back in new an different ways. We are beginning to incorporate more casual posting, blurry photos, darker eye makeup, and the grunge look I’ve been talking about. All about new denim trends

Denim will always be one of those things that doesn’t come out of style. Jeans are and will always be a wardrobe must have, but I have been seeing so many new ways to wear and style Denim. The new styles of Denim aren’t necessarily new, people have been doing different things with their jeans for a while but certain denim apparel has really caught my attention.

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner, Kylie is wearing the devised antithetical DD mini skirt.

Almost everyone has owned a denim skirt at one point or another, they are cute and simple, a great addition to your closet. Recently, I found this skirt from Devised Antithetical that was recently worn by Kylie Jenner. This skirt is a reworked Levi’s Jeans made into a very unique mini skirt. I own the DD mini and love how it looks on me, as well as loving that I found a mini skirt that is different than your everyday basic Jean skirt.

Reworked and reimagined denim is so big right now, which is exactly why I added this EB denim reinvented vintage capsule collection. The collection includes multiple new denim apparel that really stands out. The entire brand stands out as well, in that they have some big celebrity customers including Kendal Jenner, Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, Lori Harvey, and more. EB denim really shows new ways you can wear jeans and re-wear denim.

LEVI'S X DANIELLE GUIZIO

Levis is apart of this trend in more than one way, not only are they one of the biggest names in apparel but they are one of the first jeans brands and the biggest. They recently collaborated with Guizio, creating a collection of cute jeans and denim corsets. Each with great detailing and a nice fashionable look for fall.

Many popular names in fashion seem to be producing many of these denim trends such as Marc Jacobs. In their tote bag collections “The tote bag” they have a blue jean look in more than one of their designs. More recently they released not only another version of this tote bag but also more denim worked apparel such as jeans, tops, and jackets.

Good American jeans “Demin obsessed”

While I have many more examples of brands incorporating more denim designs, my last example of this has to be Good American’s new line “demin obsessed”. This line is very self explanatory as well as having many variety of denim that is a bit more suitable for every day fashion. Though I think that I could wear any of the pieces I listed above, Good American has more items that every day people can wear. This line is very stylish and body positive.
