Best celebrity Halloween costumes of 2022

This Halloween stars went all out with their costumes, photo shoots, and parties! Though it was had to decide on the best I highlighted some of my favs of Halloween 2022.

This Halloweekend has been like no other, this year the costumes have been getting real creative. Even the celebrity costumes are getting more extravagant with multiple costumes, photo shoots, and glam teams on stand by. This Halloween is sure to be part of the bests.

A costume that gave me a spooky surprise had to be Kylie Jenner as the Bride of Frankenstein. Her photo shoot recreating the movies posters was creative and detailed. Jenner wore a Jean Paul dress in this picture. Though she had many Frankenstein outfit changes in this shoot.

Not every costume this Halloweekend has been a fright, we also has people like Lizzo in this Marge Simpson costume. The star did a truly amazing job with this cartoon costume.

We love a pop culture reference! Lori Harvey as Beyoncé in the ‘me myself and I” music video

Speaking of pop culture, many remember when Lady Gaga preformed her song ‘paparazzi’ while she fake bled out on stage. The moment was iconic and it was about time for it to be recreated. Addison Rae showcased her recreation on Instagram this Halloweekend and it’s amazing.

Another Jenner had a great costume this year, she shared the picture below on Instagram and I can’t help but notice…Is her red hair back?! She dressed up as Jessie from Toy Story and is having another red moment. While I’m a bit biased of this costume since I’m going as Buzz light year, I am loving this!

Bringing the costumes back in the Kar-Jenner family with the many Kim Kardashian costumes, specifically her kids . This year Kim Kardashian dressed her kids as 90s Rap and R&B icons and these photos are just as iconic.

Keke Palmer is Rapunsel is the newest posts. Along with dressing the part she shared her own version of the character in a skit posted on Instagram. The inspiration from this was from popular request and she delivered.

Chloe Cherry has been doing many editorials since being on Euphoria. She continues that trend with her Jessica Rabbit look.

After seeing all these costumes I’m beginning to think this list is going to be way too long! So I have to end it with 2 more amazing costumes. Pdiddy as the joker had to be at the top! Not only did her do an entire photo shoot but according to other celebs he stayed in character all night.

And again I have to shed light on Kylie Jenner because the costumes this year were insane! Not only did we get bride of Frankenstein, the Elvira, and now the space series below!

Hope you had a happy Halloween! Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to be alerted when more articles are out! 💖

Xoxo,

Five iconic moments in 90’s runway fashion

90s fashion will forever be one of the greatest eras of style, for the dramatics, the art, and the icons who walked the runway. In this article, I list a few of the most iconic moments in 90s runway fashion.

There are so many iconic moments in the fashion, whether it’s a runway moment , an iconic hair flip, or a show. I have counted my five personal favorites to reflect on.

1)In 1999 a moment in fashion history was born. The Alexander McQueen spring/summer 1999 fashion show has always been one to remember, but not only for the clothing on the runway, but the performance. There are so many background elements for this performance that I love, McQueen was only 30, an independent designer from London, and did not have the big budget most have for these types of shows. Yet he hired some of the biggest models , each walking the runway for around £100 each. So many icons walked that runway, the show itself was huge. Though the most amazing and memorable moment of them all, was when Shalom Harlow stepped on a revolving platform in the middle of two robots. In the video below you can see just how powerful and artistically she moves. I assume being a ballet dancer helped with this, as her movements and expressions. In the video you can see how she doesn’t flinch when they are toward her head, she lifts her arms gracefully, to allow the robots to spray her with paint. They did not rehearse this either, making it even more impressive. This performance had raw, immersive, and expressive emotion making it so artistic and inspirational.

2)A moment in fashion that I don’t think is talked about enough is Vivienne Westwood autumn/winter 1993. The reason this is iconic in my eyes is because Niomi Campbell fell over in 9 inch Vivienne Westwood platforms. You would think a fall in such a big show would result in a super models demise, but it was quite the opposite. In a British vogue interview in October of 2019, Campbell says that some designers began reaching out to her asking for her to purposely fall at shows. Her fall made an impact on fashion, so much so that those shoes are on display at Londons V&A museum.

3)Thierry Mugler , has pieces that I can only dream of wearing. Mugler in general is iconic, everything Thierry Mugler has produced is a piece of art and fashion excellence. Thierry Mugler is a huge part of fashion who has touched the lives of many with his pieces, as he is such an influence. Not only were the pieces he created amazing, but he hired transgender models like Teri Toye and Connie Fleming and also including Drag artists Joey Arias and Lypsinka. Mugler had more diversity than any, an opened many doors to inclusivity in fashion. Not only with gender but we got models of different size in shows, which is not something not seen much in the 90’s, an something designers are still trying to integrate more now. This is why instead of a specific show he is iconic for, I think Thierry Mugler himself, is an iconic moment in fashion due to the inclusivity of the shows, the designs, and artistry.

4) In 1998 Alek Wek had thrown off the blonde wig she was given to walk the NYFW Betsey Johnson show. Most thought that this was a planned act of defiance for the show, but in reality, Wek threw it off because she felt that it wasn’t her. She did not take it off to cause a scene but a statement, she was just starting out in fashion and did not want to feel like she was not represented. It was seen as a rebellion of the European standard of beauty and is still talked about greatly.

5)Naomi Campbell has shown time an time again that she can make an iconic moment happen on and off the runway. This time she walked for Gianni Versace men’s wear 1998, where even though it was a runway show, it was mostly a performance. The show began with dancers in Versace, and ended with Naomi Campbell gliding on stage in a sparkling Versace dress with a fake gun in hand. As she walked towards one of the other models, who is down on the floor seemingly panicked, she approached and pointed the gun at him multiple times during the show. While this wasn’t the last part of her performance, it was the most iconic one. I continue to see people edit this clip of Campbell to songs that invoke power, being that it was such a powerful moment to watch.

The color of the season is silver and here’s why

Siler is the next “it girl” color, so why are metallics so In right now? I have a few inklings why…These metallics are all over the place and I am so excited to see more of the silver metallic trend!

You may have seen the color silver pop up time and time again on your feed, I know I have. Not only have I seen silver popping up all around me but I some how bought around 10 silver items recently. Whether its nails, sunglasses, swim suits, or a silver Deisel bag, the metal is everywhere and I’m not mad about it. Though the popular color gold will not leave the favors of most, the rise of silver can be attributed to this “futuristic” type of trend going on.

Silver diesel bag, silver purses, silver aesthetics, metals, silver trend, why silver is such a big trend.

Diesel 1 DR Metallic Shoulder bag

An example of one of the many amazing looks that have come out of this metallic trend.

The futuristic trend isn't the complete answer, it can also be seen in the wardrobes of people who are seeking the aesthetics of that Y2K cyber look, the 70s vibe, and the streetwear style. Silver glasses and other accessories are a statement piece that can connect to multiple different looks and aesthetics, its something bold, but cool and chill at the same time. In my opinion, silver is a color that ensues a cool and edgy vibe, it is bold especially when its as chromatic as it has been recently.

Along with the aesthetic choices that people are choosing, designers are choosing the metal as well. For example, the Diesel bag in this article is a huge trend right now. Diesel is a ‘cooler’ brand and while so many of their bags are trending right now I have been seeing an increasing amount of people choosing the chromatic versions of the iconic bag. Other big brands have also been releasing more silver products such as Prada, Balenciaga, Mugler, and so many more designers. Smaller brands have also come out with more really cool silver pieces which I will be making a list of soon (small brands I love).
